Well this week has been full of change! I left on monday to go to BYU and got to Provo in the afternoon. I unloaded my stuff and at first, the room seemed to small for everything to fit. However, as we began to put everything away, everything found its place and I even have some extra room! I went to Rumbis with my roommate Brooklyn, Amanda, Shawnie, Patrick, Kylie, and my mom. It was delicious! After dinner we went shopping and I got a few more things for my dorm. The first night in my dorm was hard; I couldn't fall asleep and I tossed and turned all night.
On Tuesday, I had new student orientation. Before orientation, Brooklyn and I went and got our IDs and walked around the campus so we could figure out where the different buildings were. When I found my NSO group, I sat down at a table and realized that everyone I was sitting with were returned missionaries. The BYU president spoke to us, along with a few other speakers. One thing that really stood out to me was that if we have faith then we have no need to fear. We ate lunch, and then went on a few different tours of campus. My favorite was the education in Zion tour because it really put into perspective for me the importance of education. Afterwards we had a freshman mentoring meeting and then went to this honor code thing. When the whole thing was over I was absolutely exhausted! But of corse the day wasn't over; I had to go get my HUGE stack of textbooks and then we went to dinner at Pizza Pie Cafe with Debbie's family.
Wednesday was our first day of classes. I had American Heritage, Book of Mormon, Chemistry, and Social Dance. It was overwhelming but not impossible. College is definitely not high school. I love my American Heritage and Book of Mormon teachers so far so I'm hoping that I will enjoy those classes. We went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa that night before they get out of the MTC and go on their mission.
Thursday, I had American Heritage and Human Development. So far, Human Development seems to be my most daunting class. Brooklyn and I went on a walk and discovered this awesome place called the malt shop. That night we were going to go to Lowes Extreme Airsports but things didn't work out so we spent some time with Amanda and her roommates and then Brooklyn and I watched 500 Days of Summer and decorated our door.
On Friday I slept in till 10:30 and had Chemistry at 1:00. It was so nice to finally keep up on sleep. Chemistry was boring since our teacher basically just went over the text book reading. I spent some time studying. Brooklyn and I went to Walmart (I had to get socks since I forgot mine oops!). Then we spiced up and went to a dance at the Wilk. It started off disappointing but then got better. Everyone loved my tiger shirt haha. We met some people at the dance and went over to their place afterwards to watch a scary movie.
Saturday, we had a contest to see who could sleep in the longest. I won haha (11:30). We went to see Footloose, which is just one of the greatest movies ever. That night we went over to Amanda's to play games. It was tons of fun, we played bambi and pass the pig.
On Sunday we had church at 12:00. It was weird being not only in a new ward but in a singles ward. Everyone was super friendly though so I have a good feeling about it. We had a floor meeting at 4:30 and then went to an awesome devotional! He talked about the Holy Ghost and he had some very good insights.
Now here I am, supposed to be doing my Book of Mormon homework and instead, writing this for all of you! Hopefully this week will go good. I'm excited for my art class on tuesday. I will keep you updated:] Love you all!
